Allen Eveland
LEAD INSTRUCTOR, SPOKANE
Allen Eveland is the lead instructor for the Machinists Institute programs in Eastern Washington. Allen has been in the machinist’s union for 25 years and is the President of District 751, Local 86. He has worked at ASC Machine Tools for 25 years and has been Shop Steward for 12 years. Allen started his career by sweeping floors in the machine shop while he attended Spokane Community College to earn his machine shop technologies degree. He ran a sundry of different machines in the machine shop from manual mills and lathes to CNC mills and lathes, grinders, and shaping machines.
Allen is excited to help open doors for Machinists Institute students and show them what possibilities can lie ahead in their new career in the manufacturing industry. Allen looks forward to the possibilities that apprenticeships open up for the next generation of workers. He said, “I believe in the power of apprenticeships and how they can help the apprentice be paid on the job and the only debt they will incur at the end of their apprenticeship is that of a home mortgage, instead of a home mortgage worth of debt.”
