Jon Holden
IAM DISTRICT 751 PRESIDENT
President, Machinists Institute Board of Directors
Since joining Aerospace Machinists District 751, more than 22 years ago, Jon Holden has continually served the union membership and worked his way up through the ranks holding many leadership positions along the way.
Almost immediately after joining 751 when he hired into Boeing’s Everett plant as a Materials Management Specialist, he became active – serving as Steward, chairing committees, and holding local lodge officer positions. Every step of the way he has kept the interests of the membership in the forefront and fought to provide a better quality of life for workers and members of the surrounding community.
He was elected District 751 President in March 2014, a position representing more than 32,000 aerospace workers at Boeing and other suppliers, as well as other manufacturing industries and was re-elected in 2016.
Jon has been a driving force in the visionary leadership to create the Machinists Institute. The Institute will provide education and training to ensure that our workforce continues to be ahead of the curve in skill and ability to meet the ever-changing demands of the future.
Richard Jackson

Machinists Institute Board of Directors
Richard Jackson has long been a strong and visible leader for our Union and currently serves as District Secretary-Treasurer.
Richard hired into Boeing in 1989 as a 30104 electrician after serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He stepped up to serve as Steward in his shop to be an advocate for members and also became a Local A Officer and Council Delegate. In 2000, Richard was appointed as an IAM Work Transfer Rep (a contractual position called out in the 1999 contract negotiations) to fight Boeing’s subcontracting decisions and propose alternatives to keep the work in-house. In 2007, he was appointed Business Rep in Everett, where he worked diligently for 7 years representing more than 2,500 members working on the 767 and KC-46 tanker program and also served on the Subcontracting Negotiation Subcommittee to keep work in our members’ hands.
In 2014, Richard was appointed Chief of Staff – a senior assistant and critical leader who is part of District 751 President Holden’s leadership team. In that role, he helped negotiate contracts for our members working at aerospace suppliers and defense contractors, and served as Business Rep for members working at defense contractors at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. As Chief of Staff, he also handled many calls from members, worked various issues for members at Boeing and supported our Business Reps.
In 2021 Richard was elected to the position of District Secretary Treasurer, becoming the first African American to serve in this position. In this role, Richard continues to serve the membership ensuring that the finances of the District Lodge are used to support all aspects of servicing and maintaining the assets of the Union.
Richard Jackson is driven by his desire to help others, where he continues to volunteer on community service projects, as well as serving as chair of the 751 Human Rights Committee. In 2021, he was elected as IAM delegate to the AFL-CIO.
